Starter Support System

Find places, services, groups and routes that can support different parts of your life, without needing to explain everything first.

This is a starter support system tool. It maps the outside layer of support: services, organisations, groups and local routes. That is not the same as a social support system (the people around you), although the two feed each other, and some routes here are good ways to find people too. Nothing on this page asks for your story, your details or your reasons. Open an area, see what exists, follow what seems useful, ignore the rest.

If things are urgent

These routes come before anything else on this page. 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger, and NHS 111 for urgent health concerns, including urgent mental health options. Everything else here can wait until you are ready to browse.

This is signposting, not emergency, medical, legal, safeguarding or therapeutic advice. Check eligibility, opening times and availability directly with each organisation.

An honest note

Support can disappoint. Services get stretched, waiting lists run long, a council or GP can pass you around, and sometimes the help offered is not the right help. That is real, and it is not your failure.

This tool is for awareness and connection. It shows you what exists and gives you more than one door to try, so that one bad experience does not close everything off. If a route lets you down, note who you spoke to and when, ask what the next step or appeal is, and try a different door from the same category.

My support list

Tap “Add to my list” on any resource to collect it here, then print or share the page. The list lives in this browser tab only. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere, and it clears when you leave.

  • Nothing added yet.

Notepad

Jot down names, numbers, opening times or who you spoke to. Nothing typed here is saved or sent anywhere. It vanishes when you leave this page, so download or copy it before you go.

Starter checklist

A loose starting point, not a test. Ticks stay in your browser on this page only. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere, and they clear when you leave.

    Print, save + share

Printing also works as “Save as PDF” on most phones and computers. Filters and navigation are removed automatically so it prints as a clean handout with every matching resource.

Email it to someone Suggest a resource

    Errors + experiences

Spotted a dead link, a wrong detail or a service that no longer exists? Report it and it gets fixed. Tried to access something listed here? Share how it actually went, good or bad. Real experiences shape the honest notes on each card. Both go by email. Please do not include sensitive personal details. First names or no names are fine.

This page is a signposting directory, not emergency, medical, legal, safeguarding or therapeutic advice. Listing an organisation is not a guarantee of eligibility, availability or quality. Services change, so check details directly with each organisation.

This page does not collect names, emails, locations or any personal information.
