The Accessibility Statement

ENKNEAUXN exists to make use of and connect through what systematically goes unseen, unheard and underestimated. Access sits at the centre of that. This statement sets out how accessible enkneauxn.com is, what is still being worked on, and how to reach us if something gets in your way. The site is in active, ongoing (re)construction, so pages change often and this statement is a living document that moves with the build.

ENKNEAUXN is a practitioner led social responsibility entity, not a public sector body. We are not required under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 to publish this statement. We publish it because access is part of our purpose, and because as a service provider we hold duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.

Scope

This statement applies to the website at enkneauxn.com. It does not cover external sites or platforms we link to, or third party tools embedded inside our pages.

Using this website

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site. We are working towards letting you:

– change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device
– zoom in up to 200 percent without text spilling off the screen
– navigate most of the site using a keyboard or a screen reader
– read most content clearly, with text kept high in contrast against its background

Most pages also carry a blue accessibility button. Tapping it opens a set of tools you can use to adjust the page to suit you, for example changing contrast, text size and spacing, or pausing motion. It is one option among the device and browser settings above, not a replacement for them.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

Parts of enkneauxn.com are not fully accessible yet. We build our pages by hand, often with custom layouts and motion, and some of these are still being brought up to standard. We currently know about the following.

Motion and animation. Several pages use motion, including the floating definition on the home page, the moving elements behind the hero, the reveal effect on the entity page and the Growth Check dice in the Starter Support System. These do not yet fully respect the reduced motion setting on your device. We are working to honour that preference across the site.

Custom cursor. Some pages replace the standard mouse pointer with a custom one, which can be harder to see for some people. Keyboard use is unaffected, and we are reviewing where the custom cursor should be switched off.

Interactive elements. Some interactive parts, including the bookmark style cards on Re:Source and the dice and checklist in the Starter Support System, may not yet be fully operable by keyboard or fully announced by a screen reader.

Colour contrast. Most text is dark ink on a cream background and sits well above the recommended contrast level. In a few places, coral or pink text and labels may fall below it. We are auditing these.

Audio. The en Heard? audio collages may not yet carry a full text transcript for every piece. If you need a transcript, contact us and we will provide one.

Forms. Our contact, booking and accountability forms should work with a keyboard and a screen reader. If a form blocks you, tell us using the details below and we will take your enquiry or report another way.

Documents and embedded content. Some embedded resources, linked documents and third party tools may not be fully accessible. If you need information from one of these in another format, contact us.

Leaving the site quickly

The Starter Support System includes a Quick Exit button so you can leave the page fast if you need to. It is a safety feature and not a substitute for clearing your own browsing history. If you are at risk, use a device the other person cannot access and consider private or incognito browsing. See also our Duty of Care and Safeguarding policy.

What we are doing to improve access

ENKNEAUXN is built slowly and on purpose. As we complete and revisit each page we are adding reduced motion support, checking keyboard and screen reader access on interactive elements, reviewing colour contrast, adding transcripts to audio, and improving form labels and error messages. This statement is updated as that work lands.

Feedback and contact

If you find an accessibility problem, or you need content in a different format such as large print, plain text or a transcript, email contact@enkneauxn.com. Tell us the page, what went wrong, and the format you need. We aim to reply within a reasonable time and will work with you to find another way to get what you need.

Your rights and how to complain

The Equality Act 2010 places duties on service providers, including ENKNEAUXN, to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you raise an accessibility problem with us and you are not happy with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can give you advice and support. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

ENKNEAUXN is committed to making enkneauxn.com as accessible as possible. We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA. Because of the issues listed above, the site is currently partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. As we are not a public sector body, we follow these guidelines as a voluntary standard rather than a legal requirement, and we treat them as a floor, not a ceiling. Because the site is under active reconstruction, we check compliance page by page, and it will shift as pages are rebuilt.

How we tested this website

This statement is based on our own internal review of enkneauxn.com against WCAG 2.2 AA. We have not yet commissioned a formal external audit. We test on a laptop and on a phone, and we check pages on the live site. We also ask people in person to open the site and tell us what does and does not work for them, and we feed that straight back into the build. As the site grows and is rebuilt, we plan to widen this testing.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 22 June 2026 and reflects the site as it stood then. The site is being rebuilt on an ongoing basis, so this statement is reviewed and updated as that work continues.
